Alley OOPS Followers!
Hi friends, Gent here. Me has not been posting here since a long time, but with the "New & improved Go Comics" site (which is currently full of bugs), me noticed something about drop in follower counts for several comics... including "Alley Oop".
This immediately reminded me of Uncle $crooge's post 3 years ago on January 02, 2022 on GO Comics Followers, which mentioned that Alley Oop had around 23,750 followers on 12/31/21. And it possible around same range until the "new & improved" Go Fiasco tooks over.
Today if you see on 7th April 2025, Alley Oop has only 4,470 Followers! This is less than 19,280 followers than what used to be!
According to one commenter on GC, he was told by GC that reduced number of followers was because of inactive accounts getting cleared.
If this is true then Uncle $crooge's and some others of ours suspicions years ago was true, that most followers on strips was inactive ones.
Also, this drop in numbers has happen to many other strips on GC too, and is slowly increasing. So me not know what this really about, but according to one commenter on GC, he was told by them that this was due to inactive followers getting purged.
And it appears like numbers for some comics are gradually increasing as more and more peoples with GC account are accessing thems accounts and logging in to the new site.
Me has no way to verifies if this indeed true. But you can see the reduced followers numbers on many comics for yourself. Just wanted to shares this thought. Oh, and one more important thing.
BEWARE of Trolls and Impostors on GC comments
It looks like GC comments for now is becoming a troll heaven, with trolls running amok with no action against them and legitimate comments of legitimate commenters are getting shadow-blocked (that is, nobody else can see them except for yourself). This not happens with all comments but randomly with some comments even when they has nothing objectionable.
So far thems "new and improved modernised commenting system" is a big frustration. And me not even going to mention the site navigation pains (and whose bright idea was it to remove search box on the site? Search box is most basic thing on every website whether big or small).
About the trolls, there are some trolls or a troll running amok with multiple accounts, one of which is impersonating me.
So, me just warning you friends here to BEWARE of impostor troll on Go Comics, and that troll was also spamming on mine blog too, so watches out for the trolls who may tries to scams or targets you also. Them trolls was show up in mine blog too, so BEWARE of impersonators.
Those of you who is already knowings mine email, you can verifies by going back to old emails if we was exchanges it before. DO NOT respond to any emails impersonating me.

So, BEWARE of TROLLS and IMPOSTORS on Go Comics and elsewhere! So far GC not taken any action against them despite multiple reports and complaints by me and others over there. Looks like there nobody human moderating and thems has given it in hands of some dumb AI nanny bots to moderate.
