Happy Anniversary!

Image
It is hard to believe but we have started the sixth year of the Jonathan Lemon - Alison Sayers team-up, which I affectionately call "Lemsay". Back on January 7, 2019, the first daily from this team appeared. It wasn't like the Benders, Jack and Carole, had set the world on fire with their plodding story lines, labored dialog, and artwork that became noticeably worse every day.  Fans thought that the strip could not get any worse but nobody knew exactly what to expect whne the Benders retired. The very first strip showed that things weren't going to be  anything like what long-time fans were hoping to see. The first panel (below) showed a poorly drawn  Oop laying under a tree that looked more like a modern era tree than anything like the swampy trees that had previously populated the Bone Age. We soon found out that Oop had been sleeping and had awakened in an alternate universe, a universe where the only difference is that this universe has no tacos. Hilarious, right...

On today's Alley Oaf - 4 January 2021

OK now! So our wishes are on their way to coming true, as it looks as if they have shrunken so much that just the moisture on the floor is like a lake or some such. Now if only they keep shrinking to sub atomic size. A nice callback to the ancient Earth adventure with the breathing devices they swallowed back then. Apparently they still work at least. But of course Oaf has to be his Oafish self and finds a convenient hot dog cart, operated by a possible tardigrade. Oaf even has a hotdog in his hand. If that is in fact a tardigrade, they have shrunken a whole lot. Next stop subatomic. Of course, whatever this creature is may not be a tardigrade but something larger, perhaps a louse that feeds on mouse blood? Rather hard to tell, even enlarged. I guess we may or may not find out soon. https://www.gocomics.com/alley-oop/2021/01/04

Another View

Gent and Wootie started this blog so that people who could no longer express their viewpoint on the "Alley Oop" GoComics webpage could have a place to do so freely. Although a lot (well, frankly, most) of the comments here have been on the negative side, it should be obvious that, as the number of followers of the strip continue to grow, there is a different point of view out there. The biggest advocate of how great the new version of the caveman is a guy named Joseph. To see how different his views are, read his blog "What's Going On In Alley Oop" (https://nebushumor.wordpress.com/tag/alley-oop/) where every few months he gives a summary of events in glowing, giddy terms. Read his reviews and be sure and vote on how you feel about them.

On today's Alley Oop - 28 September 2020

Well apparently "Elbert" Einstein is less than impressed by these cheeseballs showing up out of nowhere. 😒 I guess we'll see if this is more than a one day diversion from the "story".
