For those who don't know, there is a private FB page dedicated to Alley Oop. In the last couple of days, Carole Bender, who wrote the strip for a couple of decades, sounded off about the current version of Oop. Here are her two posts with responses from current Oop artist, Jonathan Lemon: Carole : "What's become of this beloved strip breaks my heart. I unscribed over at gocomics, just couldn't take another day of it. And readers complained about the Benders?" "it's not the artwork that drove me away. I actually like the way that you draw Ooola. What drove me away is the writing. It's horrible. It just goes around in circles. Another thing is how do you expect the readers to just forget all of the Moovians that were part of our lives for decades. I am 64 years old right now and I grew up with Alley Oop. I miss the gang from Moo. The same three characters over and over and over on a yearly basis is boring. Bring back Guz, Umpa, The Grand Wizer and Foozy...

Not much to say about the apparent end of yet another woeful "adventure" that just kinda quits while it's behind. Essentially an extended gag-a-day is what the stories are and are likely to continue to be from what we've seen. Reminds me of being back in school where you had to write a one page essay, so you would write extra large to fill the page. Joey's trying to pull a fast one on us, and GoComics. So this idiot Copious just wanted find out if aliens had built the pyramids, and since they didn't, based on that *one* example, he concludes that there is no intelligent life anywhere in the Universe? Umm, OK. 👌 Got it. 😒 Even at the Bender's lowest points, their stories were like Steinbeck's compared to this graffiti sprayed on the wall of an alley in Skid Row. Just plain sad to us real Oop fans. 🤢

Looks like Oaf has taken one too many blows to the head as he is going downhill quickly in mental acuity. And Doc says just leave the ear cleaner as proof to get their money? And it's up to Copious to determine if it's genuine or not?  Copious is likely to boot them out and tell them to quit wasting his time(and ours, for that matter). Hamlin must be turning over (spinning at a high rate actually) in his grave to see this utter nonsense being purveyed under the name of Alley Oop. So sad!!😢

There's nothing in today's daily installment of Alley Oop which is even worthy of my time, so lemme just recap briefly what happened since the rebooting of Alley Oop which was once a great adventure strip, and the evolution so far of this new nincompoopy nonsensical silly sitcomic. It all began on January 07th, 2019, when the new Alley Oop wakes up saying "Wow! I just had the strangest dream". But the real nightmare, a strangest one at that, was just beginning. Yes, it was a real nightmare which the readers slowly began realizing. We see King Guz trying to fight off a dinosaur in the last panel of the first day (January 07, 2019), and in the first panel of the next day, he runs away in the background, never to be seen again almost until a year later, but just on one day. It was a clue to what was coming -- a meaningless gag-a-day gibberish goofiness gloating itself in glee every day. Oola says a coconut fell on Oop's head, knocking him out (on 8th...
