On today's Alley Oop - 8 April 2021

 I was busy most of the day yesterday and wasn't able to comment on the strip. I guess the strip wasn't interesting enough for anyone else to comment on so I will turn in a belated review. We had all hoped this incredibly boring story was over but Joey has managed to drag it on even though it has long finished. Might as well squeeze a couple of more jokes in to finish the week before embarking on another story about a time-travelling caveman. Today we find out that Lady Worthless bought a time-machine from a farmer, AKA Fake Einstein. That's because every genius inventor can now make a time-machine just like they were Doc Womnug. So what did the old biddy use it for? To steal Wonmug's wallet. Comic gold, that. But does that make any sense? To steal someone's wallet, you have to reach into their pocket to take it. How does having a time-machine make it any easier unless time-travel also makes you invisible? Your guess is as good as mine. I'm just one of those no good nitpickers who thinks that for a joke to be funny there should be some semblance of reality to it. Silly me.

Oh, and if we really want to nitpick, Albert Einstein was not an inventor.

The a-MOO-sing world of Alley Oop

Alley Oop is a syndicated comic strip created December 5, 1932, by American cartoonist V. T. Hamlin, who wrote and drew the strip through four decades for Newspaper Enterprise Association. Hamlin introduced a cast of characters, and his story lines entertained with a combination of adventure, fantasy, and humor. On April 9, 1939, Alley Oop was accidentally time-transported from the prehistoric Moo to the 20th century, when Dr. Wonmug was testing his time machine. Until then, the comic featured Alley Oop's adventures in the prehistoric Moo. That's almost where Alley's time travelling adventures began. After an adventure in the contemporary modern age (the 1930's when the strip was being published in the U.S.A.), Alley soon began his time travelling adventures by volunteering to help the good Dr. Wonmug with his further research with his time machine. Above cover of a comic depicts Alley Oop's adventures in ancient Egyp, with queen Cleopatra.
