On today's Alley Oop - 14 November 2020

 Ok, it is indeed a bit of whimsy. It certainly beats the humdrum nonsense we've seen so far in this silly arc. Taken as a gag a day strip and not as an adventure strip, it to me is a bit better than anything in this arc so far. I'll take what I can get at this point. A day at a time. The strip today seems to be in on the gag and poking a bit of fun at itself, not taking itself seriously. That may be the best tack to take, as this whole arc is the height of silliness. Time to bail and get on to the next one. This may be the best one of this arc, but like an old boss used to say "being King of the pigs isn't really that big of a compliment". 😏

Perhaps a bit of the old Mad Magazine writer is showing through.
