A cunning collusion with Aliens, on today's Alley Oop - 25 April 2020
Just when I thought no more Giorgio memes, it looks like there's scope for some more. We aren't done with the aliens story on the new Oop, but in a bizarre way, of course.
I thought this asinine ancient alien arc was over, but it appears that there's more to what meets the eye. Just what the ancient astronaut theorists had always suspected, them aliens are up to something! Although this story appears to have some potential here, but given their track record so far.... Well, let's just wait and see, but I'm not keeping any high hopes, to be on the safer side.
But there's something very contradictory in today's strip. The obnoxious billionaire Copious scoffs at the pencil given by the alien, which Wonmug and team had retrieved from ancient Egypt. In his own words, Copious exclaims : "Just a pencil. Ha!", and before that, he mocks that all they had got him was this lousy pencil.
But then suddenly, a holographic projection of the little green alien appears and says that he sees that Copious has acquired the device (he's talking about the pencil, me thinks) and asks him: "...whether you are ready to commence our plan?". To which, Copious responds to the alien and tells him to be patient.
So, what we know from today's installment is that Copious and this little green alien already had a plan, as evident from the alien's statement about "our plan". Which means that the only reason Copious sent Wonmug and team to ancient Egypt was to retrieve this device which is the pencil, which appears to be some sort of a communication device for Copious to communicate with the alien.
But since the alien and Copious had already communicated before as they had already made a plan, then what is the point of sending someone else back in time for getting this stupid pencil just to communicate with the alien? Or is that pencil some sort of a key to some sort of a doomsday device or a take-over-the-world device by the alien in collusion with this cunning copiously rich villain? And why do I get a faint feeling that there's some sort of a political messagery hidden in all this?
Whatever it is, we'll have to wait and see. But I'm sure that the ancient astronaut theorists would suggest that the alien and this Copious guy are up to no good. This idea appears to be "inspired" by Transformers 3 - Dark of the Moon movie where a copiously wealthy guy has colluded with aliens.
But given the track record of the current team so far, the eevil plan of Copious and aliens could be some inane conspiracy to steal all the pencils on the planet and hoard them to threaten the world to surrender if they wanted to use pencils on this planet. Okay, I'm just kidding here, but I don't expect a real story in this comic anymore. Leave your thoughts and comments, folks. I'm done for today.
